How sourcing and supplier payments work
ResellerSync is a B2B sourcing and order management app for online resellers. It connects you with suppliers and keeps your store, stock and orders in sync. It does not sell products to you and does not handle payment for products.
Many businesses using ResellerSync already source products from participating suppliers through the Resellers Room network for their personal shopping clients. ResellerSync extends those trading relationships by enabling supplier-authorised inventory to be synced to their own storefronts.
How an order works
You list supplier products on your store first. You only buy an item from the supplier after your customer has ordered it.
- You, manualSTEP 1
Sync supplier products
Browse the Marketplace to see products from independent suppliers with their current cost and stock. Choose the ones you want and sync them to your Shopify store. You do not buy any stock at this point.
- AutomaticSTEP 2
Stock stays up to date
ResellerSync keeps the stock on your synced listings in line with the supplier's stock.
- CustomerSTEP 3
A customer orders
Your customer buys from your Shopify store and pays you through your Shopify checkout.
- AutomaticSTEP 4
The order goes to the supplier
ResellerSync creates the matching order for the supplier of that product.
- You, manualSTEP 5
You pay the supplier
Use "Contact supplier" to open a WhatsApp chat with the supplier, and pay them directly before they dispatch, using the method and timing you have agreed with that supplier. ResellerSync never holds or processes this payment and takes no commission. Enter the price you paid and ResellerSync shows your profit.
Outside ResellerSync - SupplierSTEP 6
The supplier dispatches
The supplier ships the item direct to your customer. ResellerSync keeps the order status in sync with your store.
Who pays whom
There are two separate payments. Neither one goes through ResellerSync.
Customer purchase
The customer buys through your Shopify checkout and pays you.
Supplier purchase
You pay the supplier directly, under the payment method and timing you have agreed with them.
ResellerSync
ResellerSync provides inventory and order synchronisation software. It does not receive, hold or transfer supplier payments.
Who is responsible for what
The supplier dispatches each order direct to your customer. You are the seller to your customer, so customer service, returns and refunds for that customer are handled by you. Your customer's rights with you stay the same whatever you have agreed with the supplier.
What happens between you and the supplier when an item is returned or refunded is a separate matter, under the terms you have agreed with that supplier.
About suppliers
Every supplier is reviewed by ResellerSync before being listed, and listings are kept up to date with current cost and stock. ResellerSync is not a party to the sale between you and the supplier.
